Polycade

I collaborated with Polycade on an artist-edition magnetic decal created for the Polycade Sente arcade machine. The piece brings a surreal, retro-futurist visual language into a modular gaming object, turning the machine itself into part arcade cabinet, part collectible art piece. The decal was produced as a magnetic skin, making it easy to apply, remove, and swap without permanently altering the unit.

The artwork was designed to feel like a dreamscape inspired by the imaginative roots of arcade gaming. Polycade describes the piece as a surreal artwork skin that captures the spirit and origins of arcade play, while the magnetic format allows the design to function as a flexible decorative layer within a space.

This collaboration sat right at the intersection of illustration, object customization, and nostalgia. Rather than treating the machine as just hardware, the goal was to make it feel expressive and collectible—something that could live as both functional entertainment and statement decor. The final release was offered as part of Polycade’s artist edition lineup and made specifically for compatibility with the Polycade Sente

My personal style tends to live between surrealism and psychedelia, with bold line work, vibrant color, and dimensional environments, so this project was a natural fit. It gave me room to translate that visual language onto a physical product made for people who love retro games, design, and immersive spaces. Polycade’s feature on the release also highlighted recurring themes in my work like eyes, faces, stairs, and open doorways.

Full layout of a psychedelic, retro-inspired illustration featuring a central figure climbing neon stairs through a surreal landscape toward a towering brain structure, surrounded by cosmic elements, bold color contrasts, and mirrored side panels with intricate patterns.
